Nearly done . . .
Jul. 5th, 2006 09:04 pmI submitted the draft of my master's thesis last Friday and got the comments back from my supervisor today. Some cosmetic work to be done and I need to tidy up the conclusion, but that's the most of it done.
It's been hard going - I had to take a year extra because I conceived such a ferocious block on it that when I took a week's leave to do it I got 1,000 words done in the week. Last month I broke over it, and I spent this month on beta blockers for the panic attacks. They aren't gone, either, but I find I can do the corrections.
So, as
banhe says, brokenness has happened, but I'm on my way to fixing myself. Good thing it didn't take longer; I found myself stammering yesterday, which I haven't done since I put myself back together last time.
And what will I do with my life now that I don't have this to avoid doing? Well, I'm back to GSFWC this week and I've a ghost story to finish. Other stories to dust off as well, but this one is closest to completion and it has a possible market close at hand. Other writing projects are queued up; time to get at them.
I also have to lose the half a stone I regained this month, and get back to practising my guitar. My social life could do with brightening up as well, it's kind of monastic. There are Ceroc and Leroc dance clubs in Glasgow - I used to go to them in Dundee, and they're entertaining in their way. It's exercise, a chance to meet different people, and they put on parties. I went this evening and it wasn't too embarrassing.
